China is an important player in international markets for animal products, antibiotics, and in global efforts to combat antibiotic resistance (AMR). As a key measure to ensure food security, over half of all antibiotics used annually are for food animal production in China. This study investigated if Antibiotic-Free Feed policy, recently widely adopted in China, would have an effect on the prevelance of antimicrobial resistant pathogen, including Salmonella.
