INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECTS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON AUDIOLOGY STUDENTS IN TURKEY: A CROSS-SECTIONAL SURVEY STUDY

This dataset describes the multiple effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on Audiology students. The study was performed between August 28 and September 30, 2020, in Turkey. The research was carried out using an online questionnaire created on Google Forms. The survey included demographic questions (4), questions on the effects of online distance education, and questions about the effect of this period on students' personal-social-emotional state and professional competence (29). We reached out to the participants through social media accounts (Instagram, Whatsapp etc.) and e-learning system accounts (zoom, microsoft teams etc.) that audiology students subscribed to or followed. A seven-point range scale was applied to allow the participants to indicate how much they feel competency level with a specific statement and how much affected their specific situations during this period. 518 undergraduate and graduate students participated the study. Two numerical scales with 7 points were used in the dataset file. First scale, where 1 is "too insufficient" and 7 is "very sufficient", refers to participants' level of competency (1: too insufficient 2: insufficient 3: insufficient somewhat 4: neutral 5: sufficient somewhat 6: sufficient 7: very sufficient). The second scale, where 1 is "not at all" and 7 is "very much", refers to the impact amount of the pandemic period on participants (1: not at all, 2: too little, 3: little, 4: neither less nor more, 5: a bit much, 6: much, 7: very much).本数据集阐述了新型冠状病毒肺炎（COVID-19）大流行对听力学（Audiology）专业学生的多方面影响。该研究于2020年8月28日至9月30日在土耳其开展，采用通过谷歌表单（Google Forms）制作的在线问卷实施。问卷涵盖人口统计学问题（共4道）、在线远程教育影响相关问题，以及关于该时期对学生个人-社交-情绪状态与专业能力的影响问题（共29道）。研究通过听力学专业学生关注或订阅的社交媒体账号（Instagram、WhatsApp等）及在线学习系统账号（Zoom、Microsoft Teams等）触达参与者。本次研究采用7级评分量表，供参与者针对特定表述自评其能力水平，以及该时期内自身特定情境的受影响程度。本研究共招募518名本科及研究生参与，数据集文件中使用了两类7级数值量表：第一类量表以1代表“极不足”、7代表“极充足”，用于评估参与者的能力水平（1：极不足，2：不足，3：略有不足，4：中性，5：略有充足，6：充足，7：极充足）；第二类量表以1代表“完全没有”、7代表“极大”，用于评估大流行时期对参与者的影响程度（1：完全没有，2：极轻微，3：轻微，4：无明显偏向，5：略严重，6：严重，7：极严重）。
