Inventory-anchored 30 m late-successional and old-growth forest products with uncertainty for the Acadian and northern New England region, with companion manuscript

Regional late-successional and old-growth (LSOG) forest products and the companion manuscript for the Acadian and northern New England region (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, and New Brunswick). The core of the deposit is the set of inventory-anchored 30 m raster products, built from AlphaEarth Foundations satellite embeddings and trained on field reference, then validated against the design-based USDA FIA inventory. Regional rasters (primary): Product 1, LSOG probability (LSOG_probability_30m_{REGION}.tif, band 1 P(any-LSOG) x10000, band 2 across-tree uncertainty); Product 2, composite old-growthness grade index, both raw (LSOG_grade_index_30m) and analysis-ready calibrated (LSOG_grade_calibrated_30m: calibrated index, uncertainty, focal-smoothed). US regions EPSG:5070; New Brunswick EPSG:3979; NLCD-forest-masked; nodata 65535. Validation: the Maine-trained model reproduces each US state design-based any-LSOG prevalence within 1 to 3 points; the two products agree spatially (Spearman 0.79 to 0.88); 36 independent documented Massachusetts old-growth stands rank at the 86th to 93rd percentile; and at the FIA hexagon scale the probability product tracks the design-based inventory at r = 0.64 on independent states, about double the published canopy maps. Also included: the manuscript and supplement, the full analysis code, the derived data tables, and figures. Restricted field data (FIA true coordinates; data shared under agreement) are NOT included; only derived, aggregate products are released. License CC-BY-4.0. v1.1.0 replaces the manuscript with the current revision (corrected design-based estimates: Maine any-LSOG 15.2 percent and New York highest at 33.4 percent; added the temporal-trend results, the Sohrabi et al. 2026 corroboration, and a dynamic late-successional and old-growth framing citing Weiskittel 2021), and adds the CRSF Regional LSOG Technical Report PDF. The 30 m raster products are unchanged from the prior version.
