Earthworms Resolve the Trade-off Between Straw Mineralization and Sequestration via Aggregate-Mediated Physical Protection

This dataset contains data on the physicochemical properties and respiration rates of soil from an indoor column experiment on straw decomposition. The data were collected from a 200-day indoor cultivation experiment conducted in September 2024 in a solar greenhouse at Northwest A&F University. At the conclusion of the experiment, destructive sampling was performed to collect soil samples from two depth intervals: 0–5 cm and 5–10 cm. Subsequent analyses were conducted using standard agricultural chemical analysis methods. Soil respiration rates were measured using a portable LI-830 open-path soil carbon flux meter.
