Genomic basis of resistance phenotype in clinical isolates of H. influenzae. Genomes of H. influenzae

Quinolone-resistant clinical isolates of H. influenzae were detected in infected patients. Genomic DNA was purified and subjected to whole genome sequencing on an Illumina platform. Assembly allowed detection of genes of interest, involved in antimicrobial susceptibility. Alignments of marker genes from all strains were performed to identify punctual mutation responsible for phenotype of resistance.
