The genome sequence of a diploid accession of Kalanchoë laxiflora (accession "Oxford Botanic Gardens”, accession number 2014091.4)

This project de novo sequenced, assembled and annotated the complete genome of a novel diploid accession of Kalanchoë laxiflora that was obtained from the University of Oxford's Botanic Gardens in 2016. The genome was decoded to support functional genomics studies into the unique adaptations of Kalanchoë, including Crassulacean acid metabolism, the development of subsidiary cells around stomatal guard cell pairs, and the development of adventitious clonal plantlets in the leaf margin notches.
