Nasal microbial communities have important implications for human health, especially for residents in health-care institutes (HCIs). The factors that determine the diversity of nasal microbiomes in HCIs remain unclear. Herein, we used 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing to assess the nasal microbiome composition and investigate the relationships between the nasal and surface microbiomes in three HCIs.
