Time-resolved diffuse optical techniques reveal the integrating sphere behaviour of intact chicken egg
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains the data pertaining to the study where we address the remarkable physics of light propagation in chicken eggs. Time-domain diffuse optical spectroscopy measurements in the near-infrared, corroborated by Monte Carlo simulations, allowed us to unveil the role of the eggshell as an integrating sphere, trapping photons inside its enclosed volume. Furthermore, we demonstrate the capability of this non-invasive technique to effectively retrieve the optical properties of the eggs’ contents using different analysis models, to the point of being able to distinguish between incubated and unincubated eggs. Extended photon migration inside the egg was further confirmed by means of time-resolved Raman and time-resolved fluorescence measurements. T
