Diatom assemblages, relative and total abundances and diversity indices data from core MD02-2521 in the Eastern Tropical North Pacific spanning from ~628 to ~1620 CE

The sediment core MD02-2521 was collected in the Gulf of Tehuantepec in the Eastern Tropical North Pacific. Productivity variations reflected by diatom assemblages over the past two millennia were reconstructed. This period covers several climatic stages: the Dark Ages Cold Period, the Medieval Warm Period, and the Little Ice Age. This database includes the total diatom abundance (ind/g) and diversity indices (Table S1), relative diatom abundance (%) (Table S2), and factor analysis (Table S3, eigenvalues, factor loadings, and factor scores).
