Replication code for: Education, civic engagement and political participation Evidence from school construction in Malian villages

This research project aimed to estimate whether new school openings increase educational attainment and affect civic engagement, political participation and political selection in Malian villages. The differences in educational attainment were compared between individuals below and above the age of 9 as of school opening date by using a donut regression discontinuity design. Study details and results are published in Economic Development and Cultural Change journal (https://doi.org/10.1086/719622). We provide here the source codes (Stata programs) which allow to replicate the statistical analysis. The file "A_Master-1.do" contains the main Stata program to be run, which itself loads one sub-programs from the folder "Gen" and many others from the folder "Regs". Other programs in folder "Gen" require original data that will not be made available (only here for reference).
