Water Temperature Stations This feature layer, utilizing National Geospatial Data Asset (NGDA) data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, displays Water Temperature stations in the United States. Per NOAA, “These stations measure the temperature of the water below the water surface.” Water Temperature stations are part of the NOAA Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services (CO-OPS). This program “operates and maintains a network of long-term water level stations called the National Water Level Observation Network (NWLON). NWLON stations are located on shore-based platforms, and primarily collect real-time water level measurements.” Atlantic City Water Temperature Station Data currency: This cached Esri federal service is checked weekly for updates from its enterprise federal source (Water Temperature Stations) and will support mapping, analysis, data exports and OGC API – Feature access. Per the Federal Geospatial Data Committee (FGDC), Water - Oceans & Coast is defined as "features and characteristics of salt water bodies (i.e. tides, tidal waves, coastal information, reefs) and features and characteristics that represent the intersection of the land with the water surface (i.e. shorelines), the lines from which the territorial sea and other maritime zones are measured (i.e. baseline maritime) and lands covered by water at any stage of the tide (i.e. Outer Continental Shelf ), as distinguished from tidelands, which are attached to the mainland or an island and cover and uncover with the tide."
