1. The dataset contains the both-side counts of four bilateral meristic traits of Ryukyu-ayu fish (Plecoglossus altivelis ryukyuensis). The fish specimens were collected from three populations: Yona River, Okinawa Island; Yakugachi River, Amami-oshima Island; hatchery-reared fish at ayu observation center, Amami City.This dataset was used to calculate fluctuating asymmetry (FA) incidence and FA score for each population.2. Another dataset included is the mtDNA sequences from the two mentioned-above Ryukyu-ayu populations of Amami-oshima Island.
