The National Bridge Inventory (NBI) is a comprehensive database focusing on U.S. bridge infrastructure, which records structural conditions, assessment data and management information of all bridges across the country. It adopts structural inventory and assessment guidelines, together with the Standard for National Bridge Inventory (SNBI), as its data standards to support bridge management and preservation efforts. Data is submitted to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) by relevant agencies, and is utilized for decision-making in bridge maintenance and funding planning.
