The stability of mutation M138N was analysed by 10 serial passagin in 5 L3 resistant plants. Appearance upon passaging of necrotic local lesions (NLL), indicating an effective L3 resistance, showed reversion to non-resistance-breaking phenotypes was common. The genetic structure at the CP gene in NLL lesions and systemically-infected leaves was analysed by Illumina deep sequencing (MiSeq run in 2x250bp paired-end reads).
