外长山列岛（Waichangshan Archipelago）位于辽东半岛东南部黄海海域，列岛呈东西走向。外长山列岛最西部（獐子岛）距离大陆最近点50.0 km，北部（褡裢岛）距离里长山列岛的巴蛸岛15.3 km。外长山列岛地理位置为39°0′31″N - 39°6′1″N，122°41′59″E - 123°13′21″E，行政区划上，属于辽宁省大连市长海县。外长山列岛由18个岛屿组成，主要岛屿有海洋岛、獐子岛、大耗子岛、小耗子岛和褡裢岛。这5个岛屿的面积均超过1 km²，其中最大的岛屿为海洋岛，面积为19.21 km²，海岸线长41.80 km。外长山列岛总面积为34.15 km²，海岸线总长为107.92 km。外长山列岛数据集是在Google Earth卫星影像和有关大连市长海县的地图综合基础上完成。数据集存储为.kmz和.shp格式，由15个数据文件组成，数据量489 KB（压缩成2个数据文件，205 KB）。

The Waichangshan Archipelago is situated in the Yellow Sea waters southeast of the Liaodong Peninsula, trending east-west. The westernmost island of the archipelago, Zhangzi Island, is 50.0 km away from the closest point of the mainland, while its northern island, Dalian Island, is 15.3 km from Baxiao Island in the Lichangshan Archipelago. Geographically, the Waichangshan Archipelago spans latitudes 39°0′31″N to 39°6′1″N and longitudes 122°41′59″E to 123°13′21″E. Administratively, it falls under the jurisdiction of Changhai County, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. The Waichangshan Archipelago comprises 18 islands, with the main ones being Haiyang Island, Zhangzi Island, Dahaozi Island, Xiaohaozi Island, and Dalian Island. Each of these five main islands has an area exceeding 1 km²; Haiyang Island is the largest, covering 19.21 km² with a coastline length of 41.80 km. The total area of the Waichangshan Archipelago is 34.15 km², with a total coastline length of 107.92 km. This dataset was compiled based on Google Earth satellite imagery and maps related to Changhai County, Dalian City. The dataset is stored in .kmz and .shp formats, consisting of 15 data files with a total size of 489 KB. When compressed, it is packaged into 2 data files with a size of 205 KB.
