Dissolved Organic Matter Composition in Arctic Soils: Toolik Field Station

Research will be conducted to determine the major components of dissolved organic matter in the three vegetation types (tussock tundra, wet meadow, and shrub tundra), document seasonal variability of those components, and determine the molecular characteristics responsible for the variation. The results of this research will improve models of carbon cycling in the Arctic.本研究将开展三项核心工作：一是明确丛状苔原（tussock tundra）、湿草甸（wet meadow）与灌丛苔原（shrub tundra）三种植被类型中溶解态有机质（dissolved organic matter）的主要组成成分；二是记录该类有机质组成成分的季节动态变化；三是解析导致其组成差异的分子特性。本研究成果将优化北极地区碳循环模型。
