Ruppia maritima Restoration at Grand Bay NERR, MS (Bayou Cumbest)

Project Objectives and Goals• To field-test the survival of laboratory-grown Ruppia maritima L. seedlings and reproductive/vegetative shoots in Bayou Cumbest of Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR), MS.• To determine the effectiveness of seeds/seedling transplanting methods for restoring R. maritima in bayous, streams, and brackish marshes.• To restore SAV beds in Bayou Cumbest that have been lost since the 2005 hurricanes through seed broadcast and seedling transplanting. The dataset includes final reports to the funding agencies (PDF), seed stratification/viability/germination data (MS Excel), seed germination protocol (MS Word), photos of the field sites (JPG image files), and photos documenting Ruppia maritime lifecycle (PDF).
