Lepidoptera records from Northern Austria 1900-2022

The data contain 248,018 single records of 2,266 lepidopteran species from 1900 to 2022 that were collected across an altitudinal range from 380 to 3105 m asl. For 247,371 records of 2,264 species, the exact date (day, year) as well as the exact place of capture (place of sampling converted to a GPS-coordinate) was available. The coordinates were recalculated to altitude at a precision of about 15 m.The data also contain the observed annual time series for all species as well as kernel density smoothed time series with a bandwidth of 15 days. Time series and kernel estimates are from cumulated data of two time windows (1960-1990 and 2000-2022) and three altitudinal bands (<800 m asl., 800-1500 m asl., and >1500 m asl.).
