Shelf MIxed Layer Experiment; Meteorology and Hydrography off Point Reyes, November 1988 to May 1989

This dataset consists of moored physical oceanographic data and
surface meteorology taken off Point Reyes during the Shelf MIxed Layer
Experiment from November 1988 to May 1989. Meteorology data continues
to August of 1989.

Meteorology data includes air temperature, atmospheric pressure,
relative humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and wind gust.

Physical oceanographic data was taken with the following moored
sensors:

Vector Averaging Current Meter ! Conductivity
Vector Measuring Current Meter ! Pressure
Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler ! Water Temperature
Temperature Logging Pod ! Thermistor Chain

The Data Zoo

The Center for Coastal Studies (CCS) of the Scripps Institution of
Oceanography, University of California, San Diego, has developed an
on-line database of physical oceanographic data organized by
experiment, and referred to as the 'Data Zoo.' The animals in this
'zoo' are the individual data sets, one of which is described
above. The zoo is funded by the Mineral Management Service, Bureau of
Land Management, Department of the Interior.
