Tea plant (Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze) possesses great genetic variations, some cultivars exhibit unique color changes. To understand the molecular mechanisms underlying light-responsive albinism, we performed de novo transcriptome sequencing combined with digital gene expression profiling (DGE) by using the Illumina sequencing technology.
