At the moment, file access is restricted until the paper is accepted. In this repository, we provide supplementary data to the publication Schleich et al. (in preparation). The data structure in this repository is explained below. General case keys for the results are: "inv-t" and "mon-t" refer to the inverse and monotonic p-T profile cases (as explained in the paper) "hpc", "mpc", and "lpc" refer to cloud cases with a cloud-top pressure of 1 bar, 1 mbar, and 0.01 mbar, respectively "1point" refers to retrievals performed with an isothermal profile "2point", "4point", "6point", "8point", and "11point-validate" are self-explanatory multipoint p-T profile retrievals "guillot" are additional retrievals run using a parametric p-T prescription (Guillot 2010; Line et al. 2012) Input Data Here, we store the input noise values used to generate the synthetic spectra. These are split into "arieldrad_*": Noise associated with ArielRad simulations "carter2024_spectra": Select data products from Carter et al. (2024) "powell2023_miri": Same as above, but for Powell et al. (2023) Forward Models Here, we provide the data used to generate the synthetic transmission spectra. The folder is separated into: "models": A collection of intermediary data products stored as: "complete_spectra": Ready-to-use synthetic spectra "full_data": TauREx hdf5 files of synthetic data "full_wavelength_transmittance": illustration/data product used to make Figure A. "raw_spectra": Error-bar-free transmission spectra "noise_cases": Noise data extracted from data products in "Input Data" "plot_illustrations": Auxiliary plots for illustrations, including Figure A.1 from the publication "setups": Contains (in respective subfolders) all setup files to make TauREx radiative transfer folders for each instrument, cloud, and p-T case Retrievals Here, we provide the results of our atmospheric retrievals. The subfolders are structured as follows: "results" stores the atmospheric retrieval data for all instrument cases. Each instrument is subdivided into the inverse ("inv-t") and monotonic ("mon-t") categories, and then further into high-pressure ("hpc"), medium-pressure ("mpc"), and low-pressure ("lpc") cloud cases. This means there are 6 subfolders for each of the instrument cases, all of which follow the same structure: "chains": multinest sampling output files "results": TauREx3 hdf5-files "setups": retrieval setup files "slurm": HPC slurm output log file (TauREx CMD-line output) "wasp39b_*.spec": Synthetic spectrum used in the retrievals "setup templates": As per the name, raw setup templates for all retrievals. "slurm files": Additional HPC slurm documentation files Analysis Here, we provide the data and plots associated with the analysis of the atmospheric retrieval results. The subfolders are structured as follows: "bayes_factor" contains all plots showing the Bayes factor of individual models, both in reference to the 11-point self-retrievals and the isothermal retrievals "corner_plots" contains corner plots, marginalised posterior distributions, resampled p-T profiles, and individual parameter traces for every retrieval "fit_details" contains a residual analysis for every atmospheric retrieval "parameter_accuracy" contains a retrieval accuracy analysis, akin to the results presented in Schleich et al. (2024).
