Effects of chronic low-dose radiation exposure on gene expression in germ cells of large Japanese field mice. Apodemus speciosus

On March 11, 2011, the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident occurred and radioactive materials were released into the atmosphere. This has raised concern about the effects of radiation exposure on living organisms, including humans, and to what degree. In particular, germ cells are highly radiosensitive, and there is concern about the effects on future generations. In this study, to clarify the effects of chronic low-dose radiation exposure on germ cells, we conducted RNA-seq analysis using testis samples from wild large Japanese field mice living in a forested area within the radiation contaminated area.
