State of Feature Requests 2026: 242 Public Boards (dataset)

This dataset covers 242 public feature-request boards and about 285,000 customer requests, collected on 1 November 2026, with one anonymised row per board (data.csv) and all aggregates and definitions (data.json). On the median board, 62% of feature requests have no public decision, and only 22% are marked as shipped. Unresolved requests have been waiting a median of 515 days, while requests that do ship take a median of about 165 days (roughly five and a half months) from the day they were posted. Votes are concentrated: on the median board, the top 10% of requests hold 42% of all votes. Method: we included boards readable without logging in with at least 10 public requests (242 of 297 candidates, one board per company), grouped statuses into five buckets (no decision, planned, in progress, shipped, declined), and report medians across boards so each board counts once. Limits: only public boards are included and the sample leans toward early-stage and mid-sized SaaS, statuses are what teams publish (so shipped shares are a floor), and the data is a single snapshot.
