Plasmodium berghei transcriptomes of gametocyte-absent mutant parasites, the pbap2-g-knockout line (pbap2-g(-)), were analyzed from ring to trophozoite stages by high-throughput RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) analysis. Overall design: Cell cycle of pbap2-g(-) parasites was synchronized, and the parasites were harvested for total RNA extraction at 4, 8, 16 h post-injection. Libraries were constructed from the total RNA and then sequenced by the next generation sequencing.
