RRBS of patients with nonspecific chronic lower back pain and pain-free controls

The pathoanatomic cause of chronic lower back pain (cLBP) can not be identified in 90% of individuals. Internalized stigma, conditioned pain modulation (CPM), and racialized groups have been associated with cLBP. Additionally, DNA methylation has been associated with cLBP. To explore the relationship between CPM and DNA methylation and how this might affect cLBP, we performed differential gene methylation analysis in both patients with cLBP and in healthy controls.
