Determination of impacts of direct harvest of coral species in Northern Australia

This project aims to investigate the recovery rate of key species of Scleractinian corals over temporal scales. The project focuses on coral species in Northern Territory waters, looking at coral recruitment and changes over 2 years. A 4 month growth trial using priority coral species (for NT) was conducted looking at reproduction rates, and recruitment tiles were deployed at Money Shoal and Fish Reef to determine new coral recruit rates.本项目旨在探究不同时间尺度下石珊瑚目（Scleractinian corals）关键物种的恢复速率。研究聚焦澳大利亚北领海水域的珊瑚类群，针对珊瑚补充过程与两年间的种群变化展开观测。团队选用北领地优先保护的珊瑚物种开展了为期4个月的生长试验，以测定其繁殖速率；同时在Money Shoal与Fish Reef两处海域布设珊瑚补充定植板，用于统计新生珊瑚的补充率。
