Metagenomic analysis of the virome of feces and biopsies from patients with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS)

Samples were collected from 12 patients affected by FMS with non-celiac gluten sensitivity and duodenal intraepithelial lymphocytosis. Samples consisted of feces (n=10) from 10 different individuals, and biopsies (n=6) from 6 subjects, 4 of them having also fecal samples and 2 only biopsies. In addition, n=3 fecal samples from patients with other disorders (psoriatic arthritis, diarrhoea and chronic fatigue syndrome) were included in the study. A total of 38 samples (19 DNA and 19 RNA viruses) from 15 individuals (12 FMS patients and 3 patients with other diseases) were processed. For all samples, the metagenomic analysis of the DNA and RNA viral communities was carried out, using the Illumina HiSeq2000 with 100 bp x2 chemistry.
