Rayleigh–Bénard Convection in Large Aspect Ratio Cell
收藏资源简介:
The data belongs to Stereo-PIV experiments of a Rayleigh–Bénard Convection cell with an aspect ratio of 10 and cell height of h = 3 cm at three different Rayleigh numbers of Ra = 9.4E5, 2.0E6 and 5.5E6. The Prandtl number is Pr=0.79 for all three experiments. The data consist of the three velocity components in the horizontal mid-plane of the cell. w is the out of plane component directed from heating plate towards cooling plate, and u and v are the two in-plane velocity components. x and y are the coordinates inside the plane for all three experiments with origin being the plane center with respect to cell corners. The data is nondimensionalized with respect to the free fall velocity uff=87 mm/s and cell height h. The recording frequency is 10 Hz and the free fall time is 0.35s and each data set has 20000 time steps corresponding to 33 minutes and 5780 free fall times.
