Metatranscriptomic responses of microbial communities to environmental stresses in wastewater treatment microcosms

This project aims to experimentally investigate the response of important functional genes under environmental stress conditions relevant to wastewater treatment systems. Controlled laboratory microcosms were established to simulate various environmental pressures. The experimental design included three stress conditions (phenol, high salinity, and starvation), a control condition supplemented with conventional nutrients, and a raw activated sludge sample. Each condition was set up in triplicate biological replicates.
