资源简介:
In our research, we aim to determine if there is a correlation between the phylogenetic groups and phenotypic groups. in other words, we asked whether all the strains belongs to a specific phylogenetic group would share the same type of environment and would survive in it. As a phenotypic measurement we used here the bacterial growth and death dynamics of 11 E. coli strains. Nine of the strains are natural, extracted from the ECOR collection and the other two strains are laboratory strains (K12 MG1655 and ATCC 8739). We perform hierarchical clustering on the median of time series trajectories and revealed 3 clusters of dynamics patterns. When we looked at the strains division to the phylogenetic group, we observed that the strains kept their clusters, except for K12 MG1655.Finally, we concluded that K12 MG1655 clustered differently phylogenetically and phenotypically due to one or more mutations in specific gene or genes and not due to major changes in gene content or in gene sequence. That means that a strain can change the type of environment it's adapted to, without a change in his phylogenetic group.
