The dataset includes 16S rRNA (ribosomal ribonucleic acid) amplicon sequencing data from sites located near Fairbanks and Anchorage, Alaska. The 16S metagenomes were collected from 2014-2018, and the V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene was sequenced. The dataset characterizes the microbial community structure of wetland soils with trophic status ranging from bog to fen. The sequence data includes DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and RNA (ribonucleic acid) sequencing data from sites along the bog to fen gradient.
