资源简介:
My research explored how the brain helps people become stronger, focusing on a pathway called the reticulospinal tract. Although traditionally linked to posture and balance, my findings show that this pathway also contributes to human strength. Importantly, self-paced resistance training activated this pathway much more strongly than metronome-paced training, indicating that it can be specifically trained and strengthened. This reveals that strength gains come from more than just the well-known corticospinal pathway. These insights show how different training styles shape the nervous system and may help improve rehabilitation, enhance athletic performance, and support healthy ageing through more targeted exercise.
