Data for: Of Young People and Internet Cafés

The survey was completed using paper-and-pencil by students in class. All participants were second year senior secondary school students (mean age 17.4 years). The project investigated the differences in students’ access to and use of computers and the Internet in and out of three schools, which were carefully sampled to represent urban (School Nanshan in Shenzhen), rural (School Hengshan in Hunan), and Tibetan youths (School Basum in Tibet). In total, there were 698 survey respondents.本调查由课堂学生以纸笔形式完成。所有参与者均为高级中学二年级学生，平均年龄17.4岁。本项目旨在探究三所经精心抽样的代表性学校中，学生在校内外接触与使用计算机及互联网的差异。这三所学校经严格遴选，分别对应三类群体：城市学生群体（深圳南山学校，School Nanshan）、农村学生群体（湖南衡山学校，School Hengshan）与藏族青少年群体（西藏巴松学校，School Basum）。本次调查共有698名受访者。
