Gut Microbiome Analysis Reveals the Prevalence of Bifidobacterium adolescentis in Malaysian Youth Athletes

The study aims to evaluate the gut microbiota of youth athletes in Malaysia as well as identify potential bacterial biomarkers that correlate with sports performance. The samples underwent high throughput 16S rRNA sequencing, targeting the V3 region, to profile and compare the gut microbiota differences between physically fit youth athletes with obese and healthy control groups.
