Genomic Analysis of Clinical Carbapenemase Producing Enterobacterales

This project aims to conduct a comprehensive genomic analysis of Clinical Carbapenemase Producing Enterobacterales (CPEs) isolated in Dakar, Senegal, with a focus on elucidating their genetic makeup, evolutionary patterns, and functional roles. By employing state-of-the-art sequencing techniques and advanced bioinformatics tools, we seek to uncover novel insights into the virulence factors, antibiotic resistance mechanisms, and metabolic pathways of clinical CPEs. This pioneering study in Senegal addresses a critical gap in understanding carbapenem resistance in West Africa, providing invaluable data for public health interventions. Specifically, we aim to describe the current situation , elucidate transmission dynamics, and explore the genetic diversity of CPEs circulating in Senegal. Through dissemination of our genomic findings, we aspire to foster broader scientific collaboration and drive advancements in the global fight against antimicrobial resistance.
