Partially cleaned and transformed data for avian surveys by Helen Stevens, Warrumbungle Mountains, New South Wales, Australia, 1989–2016

Partially cleaned and reformatted avian survey data from surveys by Helen Stevens used in Stevens and Watson (2022), cited in Related Materials below.These data are used as inputs to the Python code used to analyse pre- and post-fire avian populations affected by the 2013 fire in the Warrumbungles.In the original data, a value of September 2020 was found between August and November 2010, and changed to the presumably correct value of September 2010. Warrumbungles National Park Site 3 has an elevation of 505m listed for each survey except the one completed in February 2012, which has a value of 452m. This elevation corresponds to site 2 and appears to be a value that was inadvertently filled down on the spreadsheet. It was corrected to 505m.This Excel file is not fully cleaned data. The data were cleaned further using Pandas, including corrections to the Season attribute for surveys in April 2001 and August 2003, which originally listed 'Spring' for the season. In the Pandas code, these were changed to be consistent with Australian Bureau of Meteorology season definitions.
