Kaiser Permanente Research Bank (KPRB)

Kaiser Permanente Research Bank (KPRB) is a core research resource that provides data and biospecimens to enable discoveries that contribute to health knowledge, including the prevention, diagnosis, management and treatment of disease. The KPRB data and biospecimens come from members recruited by the KPRB, as well as earlier KP biobanked collections dating back to the 1990s. The data are standardized and harmonized across regions using the KP/CESR Virtual Data Warehouse. Genomic data are also available for 103K participants who were genotyped on an Axiom Array in 2010 using four custom microarrays for each major racial and/or ethnicity group represented in the group. Additional genotyping of participants is continuing and demonstrates KP’s commitment to advancing genetic research and its potential impact on public health (Gaziano et al., 2016).
