This study aims to deliver a highly contiguous, well-annotated genome assembly from Bothrioplana semperi, a free-living flatworm which forms the sister-group to the major vertebrate-parasitic Platyhelminthes (Neodermata). It will be used to deliver evolutionary insights on the genomic changes associated with the origins of parasitism in this clade.
