16S rRNA sequencing of gut microbiome in hyperuricemia rats

It is well known that gut microbiota as an critical mediator of gut-kidney axis plays an important role in kidney health and disease.However, whether microbiota dysbiosis induced by hyperuricemia contributes to the development of renal injury and the underlying mechanism remain unclear. In the current study, a UOX-knockout(UOX-/-) rat model on a Sprague Dawley background was used, combined with microbiome and metabolomics examinations, to investigate the effect of microbiota on the progression of HUA-induced renal injury and the potential mechanism.
