Atom Probe Tomography (APT) reveals atomic-level structure but is limited by slow sample preparation and laser-induced heating issues. This thesis develops laser-based methods to quickly shape micro- and nano-scale pillars with minimal thermal damage using thermal simulations and experiments. It also models how lasers interact with APT nanotips, showing how low-energy or dual-laser setups reduce uneven heating, improving 3D accuracy. A new workflow prepares APT-ready nanoparticle samples in resin without fragile lift-out steps. Combining laser micromachining, thermal modeling, and tip-heating control, this work aims to make APT faster, more accurate, and accessible for sensitive specimens like soft nanocomposites and biomaterials.
