Opioid nonfatal emergency/hospital visits by year

MDH receives approximately 95% of hospital discharge data from the Minnesota Hospital Association for all hospitals/emergency departments in Minnesota and North Dakota. The data consists of Ramsey County residents treated for nonfatal drug overdose of unintentional or undetermined intent. Nonfatal overdoses determined to be intentional (i.e., self-harm) are excluded unless explicitly noted.
Data does not include nonfatal overdoses occurring out in the community; those treated by EMS and not transferred to a hospital; or visits at federal facilities (e.g., VA, IHS), tribally operated facilities, or other out-of-state facilities.
