Rubicon Estuary - Restoration of estuarine / river foreshore and wetlands

The Rubicon Estuary is under threat from major estuarine weed invasion. Rice grass (major weed), sea spurge, marram grass, sea wheat grass, broom, gorse and cape ivy are all impacting local ecology. The rice grass infestation in the Rubicon Estuary is the second largest in Australia (130 hectares) with potential to invade up to 650 hectares in one of Australia's most beautiful estuaries. A Green Army Team will work across mudflats and along foreshore to manage weeds and restore natural ecology of the Estuary.

鲁比肯河口（Rubicon Estuary）正面临严重的河口杂草入侵威胁。大米草（Rice grass，为主要入侵杂草）、海大戟（sea spurge）、滨麦草（marram grass）、海滨大麦草（sea wheat grass）、金雀花（broom）、荆豆（gorse）以及好望角常春藤（cape ivy）均对当地本土生态系统造成破坏。鲁比肯河口的大米草入侵面积达130公顷，为澳大利亚境内第二大同类入侵事件，且在这座澳大利亚最优美的河口之一的区域内，其潜在入侵范围可达650公顷。一支绿色环保军团（Green Army）小队将在滩涂及沿岸潮间带开展杂草治理工作，以恢复该河口的自然生态系统。
