资源简介:
According to Hannah Arendt, the American Revolution was a local event without any immediate international influence, unlike the French one, which affected the history of continental Europe. Many years later, Robert Nisbet has overturned Arendts reflections, showing that the American Revolution had a non secondary impact on XIX century European events, with a pivotal legacy for the future of democracy. The article analyses the relative positions of both scholars, enriching them with further points of views, which during the years have shown how the American Revolution had a wide influence on Europe and on other parts of the world.
