BPM16274 is the most frequently observed OM photometric calibration target andis used to monitor the degradation of the instrument. It was mostly observed atthe OM boresight prior to the damaging Jupiter observation in rev 3224 but ithas not been observed at the OM boresight since. Since the OM boresight is in fact barely affected by the Jupiter patch a newobservation at the OM boresight will provide an important reference measurementof the degradation that can be reliably connected to the existing data from theOM boresight position while giving us a very useful comparison against the post-rev3224 data obtained at the offset positions.
