Detecting alfalfa cutting timing from satellite to verify late-season water-saving opportunities in California — reproduction data (version 1.0.0) for a remote-sensing study of alfalfa across the California Central Valley (10 counties, water years 2019–2024). The study detects alfalfa cutting events from HLS EVI using BEAST (Rbeast), corrects OpenET evapotranspiration for off-phase periods, and simulates irrigation water savings from delaying the last summer cutting past a 1 July cutoff. This record archives intermediate_data_v1.tar.gz (~207 MB unpacked; BEAST outputs, county/water-year EVI exports, statistics tables) and analysis_full_v1.tar.gz (~4.2 GB unpacked; the full processed per-parcel analysis tree plus aggregate EVI time-series and QC report).
