Parks for Baltimore City (Parks & People Foundation)

Parks for the City of Baltimore generated by Frank Rodgers from the Parks and People Foundation. This dataset was derived by selecting all parcels identified in the City's Project 5000 survey as "vacant lots" that are owned by the Mayor and City Counsel and intersect a MOITcity park (parks_BACI) or a stream. This layer was then joined back into the MOIT park theme. Parcels identified as parks in this layer that are not parks in the MOIT layer can be distinguished because the park name (NAME_PIN) is the block-lot identifier. All the parks that have the same name have been dissolved into a single polygon. This layer is still under review to determine its accuracy and limitations. This layer has not been endorsed by the City of Baltimore. This is part of a collection of 221 Baltimore Ecosystem Study metadata records that point to a geodatabase. The geodatabase is available online and is considerably large. Upon request, and under certain arrangements, it can be shipped on media, such as a usb hard drive. The geodatabase is roughly 51.4 Gb in size, consisting of 4,914 files in 160 folders. Although this metadata record and the others like it are not rich with attributes, it is nonetheless made available because the data that it represents could be indeed useful.
