Users can download full data sets or tables, charts and graphs on information related to physician office visits and hospital visits. Background The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention conducts two surveys to gather ambulatory health care data. The National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS) gathers data from physician office visits, while the National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NHAMCS) gathers data from visits to hospitals, specifically the outpatient and emergency departments. The data collected serves to gain information on the patients that go to doctors office or hospitals, their co nditions and the specific diagnostic and therapeutic services used.
