Transcriptomic analysis to reveal the impact of muscle-specific Bmal1 knockout on daily cycles of gene expression in the liver To study how the muscle clock affects liver circadian function, livers were harvested at 4 hour intervals over circadian time beginning at ZT0 (lights on) from WT and Bmal1 muscle-specific KO mice (n=3 per timepoint), then subjected to RNA-Sequencing analysis. WT and mKO mice were fed ad libitum on a normal chow diet (Mucedola, Settimo Milanese, Italy), and corresponding muscle tissue samples were published in Dyar et al., Mol Metab. 2014 Feb; 3(1): 29–41 (GSE43071).
