Vibrio spp. are a natural component of estuarine systems and include several species that are pathogenic to humans as well as marine animals and invertebrates. We studied the abundance of V. parahaemolyticus, V. cholerae and V. vulnificus in three creek systems in northern tropical Australia over the wet and dry seasons and combined it with assessment of the diversity composition and dynamics of the whole Vibrio community.
