To investigate the shear reinforcement effects of soil-cement columns in liquefiable soil, a series of small centrifuge experiments were carried out at the NEES @ UC Davis, Center for Geotechnical Modeling. In these series of tests, two unimproved baseline models and two models improved with soil-cement columns were subjected to sine sweep and earthquake base motions of varying intensities to observe acceleration, pore pressure, lateral displacement, and settlement responses.
